About Us

J’s Book Cove is a Private English Tuition Centre for Primary level students located at Toa Payoh, a residential town in the Central Region of Singapore. Founded by Miss Jenny, an NIE trained teacher, this is a home-based centre running successfully for more than 12 years now. Through personalised and focused teaching processes, students develop confidence and love for the language. The success of this centre is attributed to the attention provided to each and every student and helping them to build a strong foundation for English. With the concept of gaining more from less, classes conducted here are in a relatively smaller group of students per batch. This is not only economical for parents but also gives an exposure of group study to the students.

The core strength of any English Tutorials must be to demonstrate a confident command on the fundamentals of the language. While most English teachers in Singapore can recognize errors in the language which may ‘sound wrong’ but they struggle to explain these errors to their students. At J’s Book Cove, a unique and innovative approach of teaching helps the students to connect deeply with the subject matter they need to master. With about 15 years of experience in teaching, Ms Jenny gives all her heart and soul to broaden students’ skills, expanding the learning horizons, and encouraging social cohesion. Her desire for constant learning and keeping herself updated with the latest syllabus can be seen from the fact that she is still giving her services in a local Primary school.

Learning is a rapid process which starts right from primary education. If we fail to provide the correct base at the beginning, the structure is bound to collapse as the level increases. It is widely accepted that dealing with primary school kids is not a cup of tea for everyone. So, who better than the recipient of ‘ Most Caring Teacher’ award in 2002 by Nan Hua Primary School to get a personalized help for your child? Get the cognitive abilities of your child groomed to cultivate a healthy thought process at J’s Book Cove living to Jenny’s vision of “Influence, Inspire & Excel.”

About Jenny

Jenny is a former Nan Hua Primary School full time Teacher who also headed the Pastoral Care. In just 2 years from her joining, she was awarded as the ‘Most Caring Teacher’ in 2002. With over 15 years of experience in teaching, she continues to deliver her services with all her heart. She is the mother of a gifted teenager J, whom she had homeschooled in his early days and had his learning accelerated at the age 8 by MOE. With her sheer love for sharing knowledge with young minds, she founded J’s Book Cove to provide English tuition to small groups of students. Currently, she is also providing her teaching services in a local Primary School as an adjunct teacher.

Her optimistic, cheerful, and kind nature has grown her popularity amongst her students and parents which can been seen from the testimonials shared by them. She takes great joy in sharing her parenting/educational advices, tips & expertise with other parents. Being thoughtful and methodical, she applies an organised approach to both her planning and her teaching which is reflected from the results of each individual child she has worked with. She believes firmly that education should be exciting and fun and must instill the confidence and ‘I can & I will’ attitude in her students.

Apart from her regular routines, Jenny is also very fond of reading, travelling, and collecting bookmarks. On her trip to Israel, she fell in love for the country and being an autodidact, now she is learning the local language “Hebrew”. She has grown up reading her all time favorite author Enid Blyton and surprisingly her son J is equally fond of Enid’s writing. Jenny’s ideal ME TIME is a sip of coffee at dusk with the magical storytelling by Sir Michael Morpurgo accompanied by the aroma of David Austin’s Red Roses.
